With the history of tattooing beginning over 5000 years ago, to this day, it is still as diverse a topic as the people who wear them.

The first electronic tattoo machine was invented in 1890 by the American tattoo artist Samuel O’Reilly, this gave birth to the new era of tattooing.

After much time the popularity of tattoo has gained and now, one can find a tattoo's as fashion symbol's rather than a simple or primitive marks.

Tattoo artist's are now admired for their creativity and differing styles, and yet much of there work can only be appreciated if you have the honour to meet the individual who Adorne's their creativity...

Personally I have always had a huge love of tattoo's yet never been brave enough or even had the slightest desire to imprint my body with someone else's pictures! Maybe if I were the Tattoo Artist thing would have been different.... Hmmm now that's a thought!

My thoughts have been inspired by the 'Art Fusion Experiment' which began on 2002 and is a collaboration of tattoo artist from around the world who get together to team build and generate creative flow on canvas and paper rather than skin!! Amazing stuff, enjoy the link x

Exploring wall art!!

After finding this amazing example of stop motion animation using a wall to demonstrate the piece I have been compelled to find more interesting art using walls. ROOM by Youtube user Rinpaeshidan is one example of the artist using the walls. Rinpa Eshidan "is a team of artists brought together by a common creative expression." With each of there stop motion wall pieces taking you on a journey of the vivid imagination of the artistic process.

My newly found interest in walls led me onto my next find in Liverpool called 'Turning the place over' . The wall art installation by Richard Wilson is cut into the wall of an old Yates's Wine Lodge. I am stunned the he has managed to pursue such an artistic dream, technology is truly a wonderful thing!!

Lastly my exploration of creativity using walls left me with a wonderful video of a child creating her art by simply flinging colored paper on the wall. This last example just took me back to how art does not have to be complicated to impress as even this child was amazing someone with their artistic flair. x

Wooden Mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?

'The Wooden Mirror' by Daniel Rozin is an incredible piece of both artistry and technology rolled into one.

A mirror made completely of wood, controlled by a camera and computer was made in 1999. The mechanical mirror was built in 1999 and the first of a few that he has built. It is a piece that explores the line between digital and physical.

Rozin has since used this technique to make other digital mirrors

2001 - Trash Mirror
2003 - Shiny Balls Mirror
2005 - Circles Mirror
2007- Peg Mirror (2007)
2007 - Weave Mirror, 2007

For more information on his many other pieces check out Daniel Rozin Interactive Art and make sure to check the 'Video Art' section and the piece called Easel... It is astounding what he has accomplished!! I love the interactivity of this artist and cannot wait to see more (There has already been 2 new pieces added to his page since I first began this blog)

The whole reason I was inspired to start this blog was to make a record of all the crap that I seem to find online... Anyway I was looking back to my 1st post and saw a reminder at the end of it!!

*Note to self* 'The Wooden Mirror'

Amazing... I had forgotten to write about the strange wooden mirror, but my blog has achieved it's goal, to remind me of the stacks of stuff I see and learn and manage to forget very quickly!! LOL!
